It is the old-age question - are PCs better than Macs?

For years I have struggled with this issue.
Yes, Macs look better, but PCs have more software and support...so surely that means PCs have the edge?
Put it this way, I have been using (and am in fact writing this blog on one now) a Mac G4 for a little while now, while still being faithful to my PC – well almost!
My findings are that I really think I'm becoming a Mac convert!
I use PCs and laptop in my everyday working life and so I'm never going to be fully 100 per cent Mac, but I amazed at just how good the operating system Tiger is - in my opinion, and despite lots of similarities, it blows Vista out of the water for sheer style.
And that's before Leopard was launched - I mean just look at how fantastic that is - it just gorgeous. Check this out: http://www.apple.com/macosx/
In fact, I could just just watch the demo of the operating system on Apple's website for days and still not get bored.
The slight mention of Time Machine gets my all excited - what a cool concept, being able to 'travel back through time' to any of your files to find the most up-to-date report or that very important family photo that you accidentally deleted while having a clear out.
This is what PCs should be striving for - they can longer sit proud because they are the 'geek's' weapon of choice and fully customisible...guys, Macs are definitely hot on your heels.

Now don't get me wrong, I still like PCs  - and will always have one, but my next purchase in that department has got to be the new Apple iMac!
How cool, how gorgeous, how desirable - there's no two ways about it, the guys at Apple have style down to a fine art.
Even people that don't rate Apple, can't help but drool over how sleek and slender the iMac is with its 24" screen and incredibly thin keyboard.
Just check out this link from Apple's website http://www.apple.com/imac/ and you'll instantly see what I mean.
Yes, they are more expensive than a PC, but just look at it running Leopard - really there is no contest.
Why can't Mr Gates and his team build something as beautiful as that?
Reason: Because Apple is a global corporation and a complete brand - Windows is just an operating system. I'm sorry Bill, but I think you missed a golden opportunity here. If Windows was to launch a range of 'glamorous' PCs with a fantastic operating system to boot (one that everyone wanted), then Apple would have to rethink it's marketing strategy.
But as that's never going to happen, I think they can sit proud knowing that people buy Macs because they are a class act - great to look at, great to use and...well...great!
